Recloser Principle and Design
The ZX Series Reclosers are purpose-built for medium-voltage distribution networks, delivering both circuit-breaking and automatic reclosing capabilities. Unlike conventional breakers, reclosers are designed to handle temporary faults efficiently by interrupting and re-establishing current flow multiple times. This helps maintain power continuity in the grid and minimizes unnecessary outages caused by transient issues such as lightning strikes or brief line contacts.
Equipped with advanced current and voltage sensors, along with a smart controller, the ZX reclosers provide comprehensive protection, monitoring, and remote control. All units are engineered and tested in accordance with IEC 62271-111 and IEEE C37.60, ensuring global standard compliance for safety and performance.
Vacuum Interrupter and Switch Unit Design
At the core of each recloser pole is a vacuum interrupter, securely encapsulated within a solid-insulated housing made from durable cycloaliphatic epoxy resin. This material offers excellent resistance to UV, moisture, and pollution, allowing reliable performance in outdoor environments while keeping the overall design compact and maintenance-free.
The switch unit consists of three independent poles, a robust mechanical operating mechanism, and a sealed housing. Pole arrangement follows the standard sequence A-B-C or 1-2-3, viewed from the front (lower terminal side), ensuring easy phase identification and installation.
Intelligent Controller with PNC Relay
The recloser controller is a microprocessor-based system housed within a weatherproof control cubicle. It integrates key functions including protection, automation, metering, diagnostics, and event logging. Through a user-friendly, menu-driven interface, operators can enable or disable individual protection elements to suit application needs.
Remote communication is supported via a standard RS485 port, with additional options such as RS232 for flexible SCADA or remote terminal integration. The control cubicle also contains:
