Main Features
1. Core Protection and Control Functions
• Microcomputer Protection:
Equipped with three-stage current protection, including instantaneous, definite-time, and inverse-time overcurrent protection. Users can flexibly configure the protection values and time delays based on system requirements.
• Reclosing Function:
Supports up to three automatic reclosing operations, with adjustable reclosing intervals and acceleration sequences. It offers pre- and post-reclosing acceleration options for improved coordination.
• Network Reconfiguration:
In a ring network system it provides distributed intelligent control. In case of a fault, it automatically isolates the fault area and restores power supply to non-faulty sections. It includes functions such as undervoltage tripping lockout, automatic reclosing, delayed reclosing, automatic reset, and alternative protection settings.
• Measurement Function:
Measures voltage, current, and other electrical parameters while recording operational data and events for analysis.
• FTU (Feeder Terminal Unit):
Implements the four remote functions—remote control, remote measurement, remote signaling, and remote setting. Supports remote operation, condition monitoring, data display, and parameter adjustment.
• Communication Interface and Protocol:
Equipped with one standard data interface supporting multiple communication methods such as fiber optic, cable, and wireless. It can serve as a remote terminal for power distribution automation systems.
• Remote Control:
An optional wireless remote controller allows safe, short-range operations for opening and closing.
• Backup Battery:
An optional built-in battery maintains normal operation for up to 12 hours after AC power loss.
• Dual Power Switching Function:
Provides automatic dual power supply transfer control with features such as delayed closing, delayed opening after power failure, output-side voltage interlock, and dual-side switch position interlocking.
2. Additional Intelligent Functions
The ZW8-12(G) series includes multiple protection and automation functions:
• Instantaneous and overcurrent protection
• Three-time automatic reclosing
• Event recording and anti-inrush protection
• Zero-sequence protection
• Real-time clock and operational status monitoring
• Local and remote parameter setting
• Fault self-reporting and GSM message alerts
• Smart handheld terminal operation
Environmental Conditions
